Arts, Culture and Heritage funding applications open

The Western Cape Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport (DCAS) has opened online applications for the annual arts, culture and heritage funding, which are made available to eligible individuals, companies and organisations.

DCAS makes funding available every year to support the development and growth of arts and culture in the Western Cape. Whether you compose, paint, sculpt, dance, write, perform, or film, this funding programme is available to you. Registered arts and culture organisations, companies and individuals involved in the creative and cultural industries are invited to submit their applications for funding.

The provincial Minister of Cultural Affairs and Sport, Ricardo Mackenzie, said, “Arts and culture are a very important part of the fabric of our society. They stimulate ideas, insights and allow people to connect with one another and participate in conversations larger than themselves. The arts and culture sector also provides job opportunities through various events and programmes, and these stimulate our local economy.”

With this funding, the Western Cape is enabled to draw on the full potential of its extraordinary creative community, contributing to creating a sense of belonging and transforming our economy.

All information, including the full advert, qualification criteria and online applications, is available at: https://www.westerncape.gov.za/cas/service/arts-and-culture-funding

The closing date for the submission of applications is Monday, 24 February 2025.
